Special meeting NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING Local 0408 [June 16th 2025] To All Bargaining Members of Local 0408: In accordance with the Bylaws of Local 0408, a Special Meeting has been called by Local 0408 President, Edwin Kirton III. This meeting is being convened pursuant to Section 4(a) of the Local 0408 Bylaws, which allows for the calling of special meetings by the President, a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board, or upon written petition of at least ten percent of the membership. Details of the Special Meeting: Date: [June 24th, 2025] Time: [4:30pm] Location: [Staff Training Center] Purpose: To finalize the approval of delegates and alternates for the August 2025 Council Prison Locals #33 elections, in accordance with Local 0408 Bylaws Section 21. Agenda: 1. Final approval of delegates and alternates for the August 2025 Council Prison Locals #33 elections. 2. LMR Items to Be Discussed As per Section 21 of the Local 0408 Bylaws, Executive Board members serve as delegates and/or alternates to the National Conventions, Council Conventions, or the Regional Caucuses by virtue of their office. The Ex-Officio Officers are as follows: • President • Executive Vice President • Vice President(s) • Secretary • Treasurer • Fair Practice Coordinator • Chief Steward • Legislative Coordinator Appointed officers may become delegates or alternates only after a separate election by the membership, in accordance with Appendix A, Part 1 of the AFGE National Constitution.
